arrogant customer service and absolutely horrible shipping policies
"I order shirts, get an email stating it will arrive on Tuesday. One arrives on Tuesday, a call and ask were the other one is, minimum wage customers service agent acts arrogant and tells me the next one will arrive on a Friday. Friday comes and goes. Get email stating that the next one is arriving on the following Monday. This is not the first time, but it will be the last time they are incompetent to me."
Poor customer service
"Trying to get a billing issue rectified and all I am getting is the run around. My credit card statement is showing an overcharge and they are telling me that the overage is a pre-authorization charge. I call bs on that because, now I have been billed another amount and the overcharged amount is still pending.Their customer service staff would rather argue with you than help you.Will never buy from this company again."
Sad. They used to be good quality. Now not worth it.
"Had many issues with overpriced Orvis clothing lately. It is now poor quality Chinese made with an expensive Orvis label. Just buy discount Chinese clothing instead and throw it out after it wears out, splits, or discolors after a few uses. We are done with Orvis."
100% Unconditional Warranty my ....
"$500 for a duffel bag. Yes it lasted a good long time, but it was a gift from my school teacher father when I got out of the service. He spent $500 on a duffel bag specifically because the salesman touted their 100% unconditional warranty. After more than a decade of use, the canvas at one end split courtesy of airport baggage handlers. I contacted Orvis about an exchange... and was told the warranty is defects is materials and workmanship only! If you dig around enough on their website there is a SEPARATE warranty for luggage, not the 100% plastered all over their pages. Oh, but for a measly $60 + shipping, I can return it to see if they can repair it. If they decide they can't, they'll contact me about "options". Anyone want to bet that the option is replacing the bag with a new $500 Orvis?"
Orvis is the worst
"Orvis is awful. Their employees ****; their corporate motto of 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed is a fraud; they simply make inferior products and are not respected in the fly fishing community at large. "
Horrible customer service
"Horrible customer service! Purchased 5 shirts that I ended up sending back because they weren't what I thought they were. Used their supplied return label and tracking number. They say they never received them and that I'm sol because they don't keep track of their return tracking numbers! I'm disputing this thru my CC company!"

"My experience was nothing but what I expected from a company that not only produces quality products but stands behind them 100%. I am wondering why people write and complain about products and customer service. My experience was nothing less satisfying border line on one of the best that I have delt with. The only thing, as I pondered on the negative reviews that would be dramatically different from mine would be the way the customer service representatives where treated and spoken to. When things go wrong they are not to blamed if treated with respect, I believe there issue would be resolved in the same manner as mine. Which was nothing less than what I expected from Orvis. The proof is in the way they write their reviews. You can feel the attitude and disrespect by reading them. Bad Bad Bad
"Don't trust the reviews on Orvis, they will not allow you to write a review that included any reference to mixed up orders or poor customer service... Lets face it, their service or lack there of is a primary part of the product they sell, if they get that wrong then what good is the product. In my case they sent me the wrong color item, it was not worth my time to even send it back, we are talking about a $57 item. That said, I wrote a review and they refuse to publish it; there was no offensive language, just merely the same explanation I wrote above, however they take it upon themselves to mislead customers by cherry picking reviews they allow published. Good Bye Orvis!"
"Orvis has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced with a mail order company. Particularly with their online chat customer service. They use annoying automated messages, for example one operator said in the opening statement that she would be happy to help me with that issue and I set her straight and told her that I hadn't mentioned my issue yet. I've had bad experience with all my online chats with Orvis that just ended up returning all of my items for a refund, I will shop somewhere else instead. Orvis' items are way overpriced and their shipping costs are outrageous as well. "

"I've always had trouble with Orvis' sizing. Their size chart uses extreme vanity sizing. This absolutely does NOT work for on online/catalog company...They have no free shipping and no free returns, therefore I'm out $20 every time they lie about their sizes. I'll just stop shopping there.They also blocked my negative reviews of products on their website. No wonder everything has five stars... For this, the company gets a 1 star review."
"I have been ordering clothes from Orvis for several years and it has become my go-to store. I've found the clothes to be of good quality and reasonably priced (although I usually wait for sales). One very convenient feature- the bags that their products are shipped in have a convenient perforated section and the bag can be used to return the item if desired. Each package also contains an Orvis mailing label for easier return. "

"I purcahsed an Orvis fly rod reel combo based on Orvis reputation. The foot of the reel broke immediately. Not concerned I contacted Orvis for a replacement. They had me send the entire combo back for replacement. After at least 5 phone calls, a few emails and promised delivery. I still don't have a combo. Speaking with Leoney as well as 4 other reps I was promised a new combo. Considering all the other top quality fly equipment on the market, I would think twice before purchasing Orvis again. At this point I am out the total cost of the combo."
